The Great Sunflower Project

Saturday, July 18, 2020

Join us and Pam Golben for a lecture on what is a pollinator? What is pollination? Learn to tell the difference between bees, flies and wasps, and learn how to identify bumblebees, carpenter bees, sweat bees and honeybees. Hear about important Citizen Science projects like The Great Sunflower Project and the Empire State Native Pollinator Survey. Then join us outside to visit the MEEIC's Native Plant Garden, we will practice observing and identifying the different pollinators we find. Take home a sunflower seedling or a native plant that will attract pollinators for you to observe! Dress for the weather, bring a camera!
