Nature Writing for 5th-7th Graders with Michelle Levy
Saturday, January 30, 2021
Use your inquiry and observation skills to write about specimens put before you. What are it's traits that help it survive in the wild? What is the purpose of certain traits? What do you find interesting about it? What is beautiful or disturbing about it? Combine science and beauty, just like Nature.
Michelle Levy was trained as a nature educator at Sheldrake Environmental Center and has been sharing her love of nature with all ages for four years in this capacity. Her approach is informed by travels to the Amazon rainforest, the Andes mountains, and all over Latin America. She considers herself an amateur entomologist and has a pet tarantula named “Princess Leia.” She holds an MA in Writing and teaches a variety of creative workshops that pair mindfulness with skill building.
