Learn about the three main styles of fly fishing along with the gear requirements for each. Examples of flies and fly rods will be available to observe. Demonstration of fly tying, time permitting. Christian Chevalier is a senior at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, NY studying Wildlife Science. His current employment is for the Douglaston Salmon Run in Pulaski, NY where he has worked as a River Patrol for the past three seasons. When home from school, Christian works with us as an Environmental Educator and Interpreter at MEEIC. Christian is a self-taught fly fisherman with years of experience fishing on world renowned river systems such as the Delaware, the Beaverkill, and the Salmon River to name a few. Not only is he well versed in the varying techniques and styles of fly-casting, he also ties his own flies. From warm water species like bass and pike, to cold water species like trout and salmon, if it’s a fish on the East coast, he’s targeting them
